Jim Hofner,

As managing partner of Hofner & Hofner, L.L.C., Jim is responsible for the firm's long range planning as well as its administration. He coordinates tax planning for clients and works closely with staff members to insure that clients' needs are met. His ten years of experience with the Internal Revenue Service have made him knowledgeable in the field of tax planning and consulting for business owners, large and small corporations, and individuals. Jim graduated from Northern Illinois University in 1965 with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting. He became a Certified Public Accountant in 1969 and earned his Master's Degree in Taxation from DePaul University in 1978. Prior to joining his brother to form Hofner and Hofner, L.L.C., Jim was a tax partner for Glenn Ingram & Company, a national CPA firm. In addition to assuming various client responsibilities, he was the partner in charge of firm personnel and practice development. Jim is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants and the Illinois CPA Society. He has served as an instructor for several tax classes conducted by the Illinois CPA Society, instructed in Northern Illinois University's Executive MBA Program, and lectured on various tax topics.
An active
community member, Jim is currently involved with CASA (Court
Appointed Special Advocates), which serves the needs of abused and
neglected children in DuPage County. He served on the Board of
the Midwest Association of Family Business Owners. He was
President of the Board of the Wheaton/Carol Stream United Way for
three years and was a board member for six additional years. Jim
was a member of the Wheaton Jaycees and served as both President
and Chairman of the Board. He has been involved in community youth
programs and managed both Little League Baseball and Football
teams. He also served on the Businessmen's Advisory Board of the
Northern Illinois University Department of Accountancy.
Jim resides in
Wheaton with his wife, Marci. They have three adult children,
